Laser etching works on the principle of 'mini-explosions' to engrave an image onto various mediums, be it marble, wood, glass, etc. Laser etchings are able to follow paths to form characters and vector or raster images by steering the laser beam with computer-controlled scanning mirrors through a focusing optic that concentrates the laser energy into a tiny spot. Laser marks are created by ablating, vaporizing, melting or annealing the material being marked. Depending on the material, various effects or reactions result in a range of depths and contrasts, including light to dark marks.
Laser etching produces a black and white image, with the contrast between black and white creating the illusion of depth, but that's not the end! You can have your product include color by allowing us the paint your product using printer's ink or acrylic, depending on the medium used.
My name is Clint Lauricella and I'm a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force. I've served in various locations in the United States as well as overseas in Korea and Germany. I've served my country with pride and with honor. I currently work for the United States Special Forces developing software to use in the fight against global terrorism. My wife, Lisa, is an accomplished graphical artist who also served in the Air Force. Together we hope to produce a quality product for you while continuing to serve the military community at and around Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
